An update from the Interim Executive Director…

There are a lot of positive things happening with the Education Foundation for the St. Vrain Valley.

We are in the middle of our Crayons-to-Calculators drive and are currently accepting donations and volunteers to help with our efforts.  Crayons-to-Calculators is an annual activity where we collect backpacks and school supplies for students.  The backpacks are stuffed with supplies by volunteers and delivered to district elementary schools to be distributed during the first week of school.  We currently anticipate delivering over 5,000 backpacks in preparation for next year.  Here is an article about the program that appeared in the Longmont Observer and here is one that appeared in the Boulder Daily Camera.

We are also launching the EFSVV “Century Club” this month.  The Century Club is an opportunity for supporters to donate $100 to support students and teachers in St. Vrain Valley Schools.  Our goal is to boost our fundraising for the Foundation so we can continue to provide educational opportunities to students across the district.  Please consider becoming a charter member of our Century Club with a contribution today (click here to donate).

Right around the corner are fall classroom grants.  The deadline for submission of grants is September 15th.  We will need volunteers to again review grants and help decide how to distribute funds.  Grant recipients will be announced the last week of October.

Finally, we are gearing up for our 2nd Annual St. Vrain Valley Gala.  This year’s Gala will be held on November 11th at the Westin Westminster.  We are looking forward to a fabulous event where we can honor students, teachers, and the surrounding business community.  Look for your invitation in the mail or email in September.

Thank you so much for your continued support of the Education Foundation for the St. Vrain Valley.

Sincerely,

Brandon
