The Education Foundation provides a number of scholarships for high school graduates going on to college each spring. The deadline for submission is February 28, 2012.

The Education Foundation for St. Vrain Valley introduced “In Focus”, a program that provides a series of guest speakers to address a variety of topics about local, regional, state or nationwide education issues. Read More.The Foundation, in collaboration with the Longmont Area Chamber of Commerce, launched The Speakers Series in 2008 with Former Governor Roy Romer addressing area business and community leaders about the history and trends of education in America and the challenges ahead.

 

On October 4, 2011, keynote speaker Dr. Richard Brandon, founding director of the Human Services Policy Center at the University of Washington, presented  "Investing in Your Workforce:  Early Childhood and the Economy" to a packed audience of business leaders, community members, and school educators and administrators.    Held at the Longmont Xilinx Campus Retreat Center, the group was treated to a light breakfast and informative discussion on the direct correlation between improving early childhood education to expand and improve the workforce.  In addition to Dr. Brandon, Tim Wolf, President of Wolf Interests, and Mary Atchison, Executive Director of EPIC (Executives Partnering to Invest in Children) were contributing presenters.  More on Dr. Brandon's work can be accessed at the Human Services Policy Center's website.

Mr. Bill Millett presented "READY.SET.LEARN: The Case for Investing in Early Childhood Education in Boulder County" at a luncheon event held March 4, 2010 at LifeBridge Education Center in Longmont, CO. Approximately 150 attended this informative, passionate seminar. Read more.
