Education Foundation to Host Tech Fair 2012 for St. Vrain Valley District Students

A workforce steeped in STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math) skills is forecast to be increasingly central to U.S. economic competitiveness and growth in the future. These skills are identified as the “Foundation of the Future” and as many as 60% of all jobs will require some STEM skills by 2014. On October 10, 2011 federal legislation was introduced to strengthen STEM education nationwide.

With this as a backdrop, the Education Foundation for the St. Vrain Valley is pleased to announce that it will host Tech Fair 2012 for school district students. The Fair will be held April 13-14, 2012 at Skyline High School. The goal of Tech Fair 2012 is to reinforce and expand on STEM advancements across the school district by providing the opportunity for students to showcase high quality research projects that offer technology-based solutions to real world problems.

The Tech Fair offers local business partners and community members opportunities to be judges, sponsors and even provide technical assistance to school teams, just to name a few. Details about Tech Fair 2012 and how you can become involved can be found at techfair.efsvv.org or by calling 303-807-2574.
