Purpose

This awards program, sponsored by the Education Foundation for the St. Vrain Valley, provides the opportunity for students, parents, community members, and business partners to recognize and honor individual teachers at the Pre-K - 12 levels in the St. Vrain Valley School District who exemplify excellence in teaching.  By paying tribute to the achievements of teachers who have an extraordinary impact on the achievements of students, the Foundation and the community hope to pay tribute to the accomplishments of all teachers

Award Winners

One teacher from each St. Vrain Valley School will receive recognition. The Encore Awards are presented annually at the Tribute to Teachers celebration.  A master list of eligible schools can be found at the end of these instructions.

Award Nomination Guidelines and Deadline

Nominations are accepted from students, parents, and volunteers at the school as well as from community members or the school’s business partners. Nominators can nominate only one nominee per school.   School district staff members are not eligible to nominate teachers at their assigned school. However, staff members are eligible to nominate teachers at other schools.

The nomination form is available on the Education Foundation’s website www.efsvv.org and at each school office.   The electronic version of the nomination form can be found at the bottom of this page. Nominations may be submitted either through the mail or electronically.  Nominations must be postmarked or electronically date stamped no later than March 16^th. Nominations sent after this date are not eligible. A confirmation of receipt will be sent to the submitter.

Both the nominee and the nominator must sign the nomination form indicating that both parties are aware of and agree to the nomination.  In the case of an electronic submission, the nominator needs to indicate that the nomination has been reviewed with the nominee as shown on the form.  A sentence confirming this for the review panel is required.

Nomination Criteria

In order to qualify as a nominee, the teacher must currently be a licensed educator in the State of Colorado and employed in a teaching assignment at a St. Vrain Valley School District campus for the current school year. For charter schools, highly qualified teachers are eligible. Both full-time and part-time teachers are eligible.

• $100 for classroom use at the teacher’s discretion
• Certificate of Recognition for teacher and recognition at the May 4, 2012 Tribute to Teachers
• Recipient’s Name & School on a plaque displayed in the lobby of the Educational Services Center
• Certificate of Recognition presented to school for display

How to submit a nomination:

You may submit the completed, signed nomination electronically; through email; or by mail.  Incomplete nominations are not eligible.   

To submit electronically, go to www.efsvv.org.  Click on Programs, Encore Award Program and then the nomination form.  Fill out the form and click Submit at the end of the form.
