The Education Foundation for the St. Vrain Valley is an independent, non-profit organization. We rely on donations from community members, foundations and corporations for support. Over 90 percent of donations directly support students, teachers and schools.
Unrestricted gifts allow us the most flexibility to serve the current needs of students, teachers and schools. We are happy, however, to accommodate donors who choose to support a specific program. Some donors are particularly passionate about a certain school or wish to use their funds to create a scholarship program or make a directed gift. Finally, other donors find they can help us most through planned giving.
Please contact your tax advisor to find out the tax benefits when considering gifts of real estate, stock and other securities.

Planned giving involves integrating a charitable gift into a donor’s overall financial, tax and estate planning objectives, so as to maximize benefits to the donor and the Education Foundation for the St. Vrain Valley. Examples include:
- Donations of personal residences, commercial buildings or land which can be structured as outright gifts, remainder gifts or life-income producing assets.
- A bequest can be included in a donor’s will for a specific dollar amount or a portion of your estate.
- A life insurance policy naming the Education Foundation for the St. Vrain Valley as owner and beneficiary offers donors a tax deduction for the cash value of the policy.
If you are interested in making this type of donation, please call 720-652-8208.
Employees of the St. Vrain Valley School District have the opportunity to contribute to the Education Foundation through the appropriate designation during the annual payroll deduction drive or at anytime throughout the year. Employees of other local businesses with United Way payroll deductions may write in the Foundation’s name and address on their payroll deduction form and the donation will benefit our schools.
SVVSD employees may download a pdf of the payroll deduction form. Completed forms should be turned in to the District’s Payroll Department.
License Plate Program
The Support Public Education License Plates allows motorists to convey their support for public education in the state of Colorado while financially supporting the Education Foundation for their favorite school district. Proceeds from the license plate sales will go directly to programming support at each Education Foundation.
The total cost of the plate is $70; $20 is donated to the Education Foundation of your choice via this website, and $50 is paid directly to the Department of Motor Vehicles when you pick up your plate. The link above enables you to purchase the certificate required to purchase your Support Education Plate from the DMV. The Support Education plate can only be purchased with the certificate provided on that website. You must take the certificate to your local DMV office and pay the administrative fee of $25 directly to the DMV in order to receive your plate.
Given the large number of specialty plates available, some local DMV offices may need to be reminded about the availability of the Support Education plates.
The Preschool Scholarship Fund provides an increasing number of 3-4 year olds with the opportunity to attend preschool and develop a strong set of basic skills needed for success in school. The district’s achievement track record for preschoolers is excellent and having more funds available for this purpose is critical. Offering a great program only works if families are able to afford to send their children to it. We work closely with the district to help identify families and schools who can benefit from this money routinely.
Please identify your donation as “Preschool” in the comment section of the donation form and it will be used for that purpose.
